Berkembang offers a variety of training options:

in-person at Berkembang’s gym in Reston, Virginia,

remotely via live Zoom sessions or remote programming delivered via the TrueCoach app,

or, for those who prefer working out in the comfort and privacy of their own home, an exclusive, Berkembang-To-You in-home training service.


Each client’s experience at Berkembang Coaching is crafted utilizing 20 years of expertise in the field and knowledge built upon certifications including CrossFit Level 4, Precision Nutrition Level 1, Functional Range Conditioning, and NASM CPT.


What is it like training at Berkembang?

You begin by scheduling sessions at days and times that work for you using the online scheduler.

When arriving for your session, you will be greeted at the gym and can place your keys, water bottle, and personal items at the entryway valet.

As you go through the warm-up, you can share how your day is going, your body is feeling, and your recent sleep and eating patterns. These factors can help adjust each workout to match your physical and emotional state.

A session will take you through a few strength training circuits. Often, this is a combination of two to four different pushing, pulling, squatting, and hip-hinging movements, repeated for three rounds. Each session concludes with accessory and midline exercises and mobility work. Programming is always specific to your personal strengths, limitations, and goals.

Who is my coach?

Laura DeMarco has been coaching clients to become the best version of themselves since 2005. She has owned CrossFit gyms, competed as an athlete, and has experience working with children through seniors, amputees, TBIs, and a wide variety of acute and chronic conditions. Her background includes functional fitness, Olympic lifting, bodybuilding, kettlebells, and yoga, allowing her to craft individualized programs that evolve with the needs of each client. Laura has a holistic, client-focused approach, supported by her Precision Nutrition certification and experience as a Health & Wellness Coach. Laura's coaching style is rooted in a "teach a man to fish" spirit - each session provides guidance and education, enabling you to take true ownership of your health and fitness. Laura specializes in working with folks in their 40's, 50's, and 60's who want to build and maintain strength, maximize bone and joint health, and continue to live an active life for as long as possible.
